Vision Week 6 - Weekend away

Open in Prayer

Spend some time debriefing the weekend away.

Was there anything that really struck you from any of the talks?

Are there any lessons from the weekend you are trying to build into your life?

Read the following passage:

John 15:1-8
15
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes  so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

DISCUSS:

  1. What is the relationship between bearing fruit and remaining In Jesus?

  2. What might Jesus mean when he says “remain in me”.

  3. How have you seen evidence of fruit in your life that accompanies a genuine connection to Jesus and his words?

  4. Why is having Jesus word’s remain in us (v7) a prerequisite for making requests that God promises answer?

  5. Do your prayers tend to be primarily informed by the words of Jesus and his heart, or by your own wants and feelings?

  6. What is one prayer that is centred around God’s glory that you want to pray more frequently?

PRAY.

Watch video from Morgs and Liv in Dubai (in leaders WhatsApp for security reasons).

Pray that God would be glorified in Dubai, in the world and in Sydney.

Pray for anyone you are hoping to invite to the school.
