MATTHEW 28: 18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus has given one mission to His Church: to make disciples of all nations. We want to see as many people as possible come to know the forgiveness, freedom and joy that is found only in Jesus.

OUR VISION: LOVE GOD, THE CHURCH & THE WORLD.

GOD

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Mark 12:30

God has engineered our hearts to be ruled by a single, superior desire, the love of God. In sin, we have loved things less than God and because of this our hearts have been broken and left unsatisfied.

Even though we have not loved God as we should, He has loved us by sending Jesus as a sacrifice for our sin. Now, by the power of His Holy Spirit we are enabled to fulfill our created purpose and love Him whole- heartedly.

We want to be a church committed to continually growing in our love and knowledge of God. Love for God is not a weak desire, it is the single great passion that every human desires to be consumed by.

CHURCH

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us
1 John 4:12

Australians are big on God but not big on church. 71% of Australians believe there is a god but less than 20% attend church monthly. Church is God’s idea and He has made it for His Glory. We want to be a church that loves church.

Church is not a building or a meeting or a time. Church is a group of people saved by grace for the Glory of God and God has purposed that His church be marked by love for one another. When we do not love one another, we become disinterested in each other’s lives and church becomes peripheral to our lives and our lives become peripheral to it.

The church is central to God’s plan to Glorify His Name and we want it to be central to our lives too.

WORLD

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

God’s mission is global. His vision is for people from every tribe nation and tongue to be a part of His church. We want to be a church that seeks to love those outside church and to show them the mercy and grace that is found in Jesus.

As a church we want to be different to the world around us and yet not indifferent to it. Just as the church is not to be indifferent to each others’ needs, so we are not to be indifferent to the need of the whole world to experience God’s grace and mercy.

When a church is committed to showing God’s love to the world they will be as a city and a light, a witness to God’s Glory in a world who don’t know Him.
