GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

Begin by welcoming everyone and have time for people to get to know each other especially those who are new to the group. Here are a few icebreaker questions to choose from:

  1. What was a highlight for you over the summer?

  2. What fictional character (movie or book) do you identify with and why?

  3. If you could instantly master any new skill or hobby this year, what would it be?

VISION

Read Hebrews 10:19-25

Discussion Questions:

  • What stands out to you about this passage?

  • According to this passage, what responsibilities does the church have towards one another?

  • How can we practically live out these responsibilities in our community group?

Small Group Discussion in groups of 2-3 (if there is time)

Each person shares briefly on of the following:

  • What is one way you would like to contribute to a strong, encouraging community this year?

  • How have you been encouraged by Christian community in the past?

After 5, invite people to share key insights with the whole group.

PRAYER

Take time to pray for the group and the year ahead.

Begin by asking people to share:
What is one prayer you would like to see God answer for this group this year?

  • Pray for deep relationships, spiritual growth, and opportunities to encourage and support one another

  • Pray for the current 'Do We Need God?' series, that it would impact those exploring faith.

  • Pray for the upcoming Alpha course, that people would be invited and come with open hearts.

Spend some time in open prayer praying for all of this.

LOGISTICS

  • Schedule: What will our regular meeting rhythm be? Confirm times, locations, and frequency.

  • Communication: How will we stay in touch? (Group chat, email, social media, etc.)

  • Commitment: Encourage consistency in attendance and engagement for a strong community.

  • Meal Roster: Who will organise

  • Special Events: Any ideas for group socials this term
