Read Esther 8:1-9:10
1. What stands out to you from the passage? What questions does it raise?
2. Go back and read the original edict, and the response of the Jewish people in 3:13-4:3. In what ways is this edict now been countered?
3. How would you respond to someone who was questioning the justice of a God who would bring about the death of wicked people?
4. Compare the emotional response to the edicts in 4:3 and 8:16-17. How do these two responses mirror how a person might respond upon hearing about Gods judgement of Sin, and then the Good news of the gospel?
5. In what ways have Mordecai and Esther changed or developed throughout the book of Esther?
6. How has the Story of Esther been a true display of Romans 8:28
7. Stepping back and considering the message of Esther as a whole, what has it taught or reminded you about God and how he works?
8. What is one thing about God’s Sovereignty or his Grace that has encouraged you as you’ve reflected on the book of Esther and on your own life?
